I like the second one a little better. It may be my monitor at the office, but it seems easier on the eye to read the “elite” and the crown image is easier to pick out.

The heavy black border I don’t like though. Maybe use slightly lighter shades of the blue on the top and left edge, and slighter darker blue on the bottom and right edge to try and give a slight 3-D look to the image.

100% with Athol. Drop the black border and go with 2. I would just do it all in blue with no border.

Yes, the second one seems to be a favorite of most of our team as well — and I agree with you about the border. I’m going to play around a bit with Athol’s idea of a 3-D border just for the heck of it, but we may end up with solid blue in the end.
