El Dorado County Homes And Community Information
El Dorado County
El Dorado County runs from the foothills near Sacramento County on its
western border to the snow-capped peaks of the Sierras and South Lake Tahoe
in the east. With many areas located above the fog line, plenty of state
and national parks and other recreational opportunities, and a variety of different
communities from suburban to rustic, El Dorado County offers its residents a lifestyle
that's second to none.
Unlike nearby Sacramento County, most of the land in El Dorado County is unincorporated --
the exceptions being Placerville and South Lake Tahoe. Therefore, in most cases, the
county building department
is where you'll go for home building information. For land use and zoning issues,
visit the county's planning department,
and for general information about the county see their main web site.
