Galt Homes and Community Information

Well south of the City of Sacramento, Galt has escaped much of the explosive growth of towns closer in like Elk Grove. On the Sacramento River border where Sacramento County meets that of San Joaquin, Galt retains much of its small town feel for its population of some 21,000 residents. This is especially true of the west side of town.

The exception that proves the rule is the area to the east of highway 99, where new housing starts have recently begun expanding the town in keeping with the growth in the rest of the area.

Attractions in Galt include May's Strawberry festival, held each year in May. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, shoppers enjoy the huge Galt Market, Northern California's "largest combined wholesale, retail, flea, and produce market."
