Sacramento Homes and Land

Downtown Sacramento lies along the south edge of the American River, not far east of where it joins the Sacramento River. During our hot Sacramento summers -- "yeah, but it's a dry heat" -- the rivers fill up with boaters and swimmers and our fair share of bathing beauties from the well situated California State University. Winters bring cooling rains and beautiful "walking temperatures", while the rest of the year is even and mild.

The seat of California's government, Sacramento is home to many esteemed statesmen like...well...anyway, the Governor's mansion is here. Here in California, we love our politicians so much we pay extra to vote for them again during the same term of office, and Sacramentans are blessed with rink-side seats for all the thrilling gubernatorial recall action.

Downtown is home to parks, luxury condominiums and streets shaded by the oaks that are an area landmark in themselves. With some 406,000 residents in the city itself, our State's capital is still modest in size compared to the behemoths of Los Angeles and San Francisco. Still, low unemployment and favorable prices compared to the bay area attracts many newcomers to the region each year.

Homes in Sacramento include many older homes in well-established neighborhoods, and tend to be more affordable overall than homes in outlying El Dorado and Placer counties, making them an ideal choice for many first time buyers. Also, though many larger subdivisions are being created in outlying areas, newer homes are also available in Sacramento proper.
