Of course, we mean the best web sites besides this one, but we want to keep our semblance of being self-effacing, so we'll leave it at that hint (ahem).

The Sacramento Bee is our hometown newspaper, and the online version is something I frequently my clients to one way or another.

Sacramento County Web Site
The Department Index gives you links to the Sheriff's Department, your best source for crime research, the Planning Department for zoning and land use planning concerns, the County Clerk-Recorder's office for questions your title report may raise, and lots more. Want to know where the airports are? That's there, too.

Things to do

We used to run a fairly competent things to do section ourselves, and you can still find a link to our old things to do blog there as well as some other links. There are a few more below.

The Sacramento Zoo
Some of my best childhood memories were at the zoo with dad, and some of my best times as an adult were at our fair city's zoo with my daughter. The web site is quite good too, but there's nothing like hobnobbing with the critters face to face. Honorable mention: Folsom Zoo.

Sacramento Trap Club
This isn't the biggest site in Sacramento, but it's an important one. Much as I love animals, there is one critter who strikes such blind terror and rage in my heart that I hunt it down relentlessly. Of course, I am referring to the dreaded Columbus terrae, or clay pigeon. If a clay pigeon has not ruthless attacked you, thank the good people at the Sacramento Trap Club for keeping their numbers down. PUL-L-L !
